چکیده

This paper discusses probabilistic methodology for Transmission System Planning. Recent NESCOE memo suggested that current transmission planning procedure at ISO-NE might create inconsistency within the region and between the development plans of various transmission owners. The proposed methodology establishes base cases and contingency testing as means for consistent probabilistic assessment of reliability for a proposed transmission system plan. The system stress is computed through consistent probabilistic modeling and the base cases established by systematically sampling corresponding probability distributions. The methodology is illustrated for a simplified two-zone model of the power system.

Presenting a model for assessing the risk of welding cracks using the ّFBWM method

One of the most dangerous industries is welding and inspection. Risk assessment is a rational procedure for determining the probable repercussions of prospective incidents on people, materials, equipment, and the environment. The risk assessment identifies the efficacy of selected control mechanisms and offers essential data for risk reduction, risk management, control system enhancement, and r...

A New Generation Allocation and Expansion Planning Algorithm Including Transmission System Effects

Generation Expansion Planning (GEP) is one of major modules of power system planning studies, normally performed for the nex 10-30 years horizon. The current industrial practices are to find the generation requirements based on a nodal analysis. In this way, the allocations are not determined and subequent studies are required to find the exact locations which as decomposed from the earli...

Transmission expansion planning based on merchandizing surplus of transmission lines

This paper proposes an optimal transmission expansion planning (TEP) which is based on determining share of each line in merchandizing surplus (MS) of system, determining by Independent System Operator (ISO). The more share of a line in MS of system denotes the priority of a line for expansion. The procedure of determining MS of each line in a power system is based on determining the MS share o...

Impact of Demand Response Technique on Hybrid Transmission expansion planning and Reactive Power planning

In this paper, a model for hybrid transmission expansion planning (TEP) and reactive power planning (RPP) considering demand response (DR) model has been presented. In this study RPP considered by TEP for its effects on lines capacity and reduction of system expansion costs. On the other hand the expansion of the transmission system is an important subject, especially dealing with the new i...
